A fascinating illustrated talk by Showman Andrew Van Buren, for this months Newcastle Under Lyme 850 anniversary ‘Fascinating Folk’ focus.
Philip Astley’s life and the rollercoaster journey to gain recognition for Astley, his legacy and his birthplace of Newcastle under Lyme.
The son of a cabinet maker Astley became not only an author but also a Military Hero, the original Ringmaster and creator of the Modern Circus.
