World Juggling Tour 2018 comes to Newcastle-under-Lyme!
World Juggling Tour 2018 comes to Newcastle-under-Lyme as part of the worldwide celebration of World Circus Day 2018!
25 professional circus schools were invited from all over the world to take part in the World Juggling Tour 2018, during the New Generation Festival in Monte Carlo earlier this year.
The official closure of the tour will be celebrated on April 21st, at our very own Philip Astley’s birthplace – in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
The circus pioneer, master equestrian, and ‘father of modern circus’ is the founder of the 42- foot circus ring diameter used in circus today.
World Juggling Tour 2018 is all part of a remarkable focus to inspire a new generation of circus artists.
The worldwide action has been initialled by The Fédération Mondiale du Cirque, under the honorary presidency of HSH Princess Stephanie.
The students from the schools involved introduced their skills, school, and city on camera in order to produce a final edition tour video to be presented on World Circus Day.
World Circus Day celebrates circus arts and culture, this year coinciding with the 250th anniversary of the circus.
There are celebrations for the 250th anniversary of the circus throughout the world, and many events throughout Newcastle-under-Lyme.
Performers in the World Juggling Tour 2018 are connecting with Newcastle-under-Lyme by showcasing the future of the circus performing art form.
Roll up, Roll up… Let us show our appreciation on April 21st.
Keep updated with our upcoming events for more circus activities and celebrations.
